It’s a wrap!!!

With all the rain we had on Saturday, Lake Cliff Park managed to soak the majority up allowing vendors to easily move into their spots. Only a couple of small areas had some standing water, which we were able to cordon off, with well-placed trash cans & chairs.

Sunday was beautiful, sunny, & neither too hot or too cold. Thank you to all the vendors & the Food Trucks that participated. Many thanks to the wonderful job the Parks Department does every year in getting the park ready for us, setting up the stage area, mowing, picking up litter, etc. Their crew was cooperative, cheerful, & helpful in every way. Thank you to the Friends of Oak Cliff Park for the wonderful work they do in keeping the parks of Oak Cliff looking gorgeous & the special attention they give to Lake Cliff Park in preparation of Oak Cliff Earth Day. Their newly planted crape myrtle beds will look majestic once they grow up.

Boy Scout Troup 2012 did such a wonderful & professional job of helping vendors to their booths, setting up canopies, including figuring out how to attach sides from 1 tent to a canopy of another tent to provide a changing room for our performers. Their troop leader is Michael Ross.

A lot of hard work goes into making this community event happen every year. Our committee consists of Barbara Barbee, Anne Campbell, Tim Herfel, Stan Aten, Teresa Norton, Lenora Casmore, Lee Kelton, & Lybo Buchanan.

The Terrarium Workshop that Methodist Hospital held was a huge success. Their tables were full of kids working to create their works of living art.

Big special thanks for all of our sponsors, without whom this event would not be possible. Thank you goes to Dallas Park & Recreation, Friends of Oak Cliff Parks, Methodist Dallas Medical Center, EarthX, Edible DFW, Natural Awakenings, Dallas Sierra Club, Living Earth, The Planetary Trust of John & Margie Haley, Whole Earth, the Green Tip Guy, Dallas County Community College District, Good Space, Law Office of Domingo Garcia, Ben Macker, Budget Dumpster, Downwinders at Risk Education Fund, REI, & Rawsome Labs.

And thanks to Memnosyne for sponsoring & presenting Oak Cliff Earth Day for 2019.

For 2020, we are looking for someone to join our committee & take on the entertainment scheduling. If interested or you would like more information, please contact Lybo Buchanan at
